Remodeling a bathroom is one of the best ways to fall in love with your home again, and having a relaxing retreat just steps away from the hustle and bustle of a busy home life is a great way to reduce stress and maintain a happy family.
This bathroom in particular was designed to be especially luxurious, complete with a large Ofuro soaking tub. An Ofuro is a classic Japanese bathtub and adds an element of relaxation and serenity to the space. It is deeper than a traditional bathtub, allowing for a full body soak, and the temperature of the bath can be regulated to create just the right environment for relaxation.
However, executing a bathroom remodel of this nature can be daunting, especially for busy professionals that don’t have a lot of time to spare. Therefore, it's important to find a team that you can trust before you get started with this kind of project. You'll be letting these people into your inner world so the team you collaborate with can either save you time and money or create timely and expensive headaches.
Michael Mok is one of two co-founders of Bridges MR dba Renew Connections Remodel, the firm Ally hired to help with the remodel. He specializes in working with busy individuals on remodeling their home in a way that minimizes the amount of time required of them. He led the team that included an architect, contractor, and professional design services care of C&C Designs.
"My parents had a project done 25 years ago, and they're still waiting for a wall to be painted, so I know why it's important to do the job right, until the very end." he said, "Because of this, we took particular care to be aware of the details, down to the building codes and methods used at the time Ally's house was built."
This deep knowledge of the industry gave Ally and the team assembled by Renew Connections Remodel a firm understanding of the logistics and risks of the project. They needed to determine how they would lay out the tile, reroute plumbing, and obtain the proper permitting — all while ensuring the project met or exceeded current building codes in the state of California.
It's not by luck that all of this planning came together smoothly to create a dream retreat in a minimal amount of time. Ally plans on using this new space to soak and plan future trips with friends and family. The newly installed Ofuro soaking tub, with its deep, quiet waters, provides a tranquil environment to unwind and reflect, and unlike a normal tub, Ofuro soaking tubs have great ergonomics.
"Just about anyone can fit in one," Michael says, "and you can even turn it into an ice bath after a marathon or long bike ride."
If you're looking to remodel a part of your home, Michael suggests that you start by contacting an experienced contractor and sharing your vision with them.
"Getting started is really as simple as picking up the phone. We listen to your vision, we listen intently, and bring the experience needed to create a customized plan that will make that vision a reality for you."
If you’re looking to start a big project, the first step is as easy as sharing your vision. Schedule a free consultation today.
