This Campbell, CA property is in the heart of Silicon Valley, and was purchased with the intent to build a new home on the original site with a few expansions. “We were brought onto the project early enough to influence the overall floor plan of the home and see the project all the way through to the smallest detail,” Jennifer Glynn of Space10 Interiors shares. Jennifer and her team designed the home for a multi-generational family who wanted the modern farmhouse look on a modest budget.
“Our design goal was to create a light-filled, open floor plan space with a custom feel,” Jennifer says. To do this, Space10 employed some creative and affordable solutions, like customizing stock cabinets and adding boutique hardware for a high end look in the kitchen. Other key elements include classic white subway tile, a barn door, and black kitchen pendant lights. From an architectural standpoint, large windows, high ceilings, and skylights ensure the space is flooded with natural light. To create visual impact, they brought in large scale art from Minted and Juniper Design Shop.
Construction took about two years, and the homeowners were quite happy with the end result. “They loved how modern and clean it was,” Jennifer recalls. “They especially loved how the small space felt large because of the design.”
